JACOB J. BUSS

Jake Buss was born and raised in Lincoln, NE and attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Upon graduation, Jake moved to Denver, Colorado. There he began his career in outside sales where he learned to listen to clients individual needs and develop creative strategies to meet those needs. Despite enjoying the competitive sales field, Jake was very excited when presented with the opportunity to join Gene Lilly Surety Bonds, Inc. in the summer of 2004. 

While learning the surety industry, Jake got his insurance license and began to produce business. In addition to working with a number of our long time clients, Jake is eager to develop new relationships as we continue to grow. In the spring of 2007, Jake opened our Omaha office as a way to better serve existing contractor clients as well as nurture new business. Jake is active and involved in many of our area contractor associations and has served on or been a chairman to several committees. Jake currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Nebraska South Dakota Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors. We see participation in these associations as a great way to get to know the contractors that we serve as well as invest in the future of the construction industry.

Outside of work, Jake and his wife Kristen try to keep up with their four young children who are very active in their various activities. When not at one of the kids sporting events, you might find Jake and Kristen hosting a BBQ and showing movies in the backyard for friends and family. The Buss family enjoys everything outdoors from going to a baseball game to fishing off the dock at the lake. Play a round of golf with Jake and you may wonder how he enjoys it so much, but he does.
